John Hemenway  

John Hemenway leads one of Fisher’s Research Centers of Excellence focused on helping global companies execute through optimization of Business Performance Management (BPM). BPM includes the integration of business planning and analysis with technology, organizational change management and process engineering empowering organizations to make insightful decisions and effectively implement those decisions on a global scale. The Center for BPM’s mission includes delivery of curriculum to develop a new generation of global BPM leaders while integrating industry and academic thought leadership supporting initiatives driven by member companies of the Center. The Center for BPM along with Fisher’s other Research Centers of Excellence (Operations, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Services, Real Estate, Economics and Supply Chain) provide member companies with a vast array of support to help them transform their enterprises and develop their next generation of leaders.

Governance Board

 
J.Richard Dietrich joined Fisher College after serving as Academic Fellow in the Security and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant. Previously, he was the Deloitte & Touche Professor of Accountancy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Professor of Accounting and the Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. Centennial Faculty Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. He also served as visiting professor at both Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Chicago. Dr. Dietrich’s research has been published in numerous professional journals and he is a frequent presenter at professional conferences.
   Karen Wruck is Associate Dean for MBA Programs, Dean’s Distinguished Professor and Professor of Finance at the Fisher College of Business.  She conducts research and teaches in the fields of financial and organizational economics, specializing in corporate finance, restructuring, financial distress, corporate governance and management compensation.  She has published numerous articles in leading academic journals and developed highly successful courses for delivery to MBAs and executives.  In addition, her work and opinions have been highlighted in business periodicals.  Wruck is an associate editor of the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Research and European Financial Management and she serves as an ad hoc referee for many other academic journals.  She has been selected as the outstanding faculty member by students in the core of the full time MBA program and the executive MBA program at Ohio State.  She has also received a faculty-selected award for exceptional contribution toward graduate student intellectual and cultural growth at OSU.  Wruck serves as an academic director of the Financial Management Association and the Turnaround Management Association.  She has served as a consultant to major corporations and has worked on a number of high profile corporate litigation projects as an expert witness
 

 

  

Jeff Rodek is a part time faculty member at the Fisher College of Business as well as a senior advisor with Accretive LLC, a New York based private equity firm. Rodek joined the faculty of The Ohio State University in July, 2007. Prior to Hyperion’s sale to Oracle in April, 2007, Jeff was the Executive Chairman of the Board and former CEO of Hyperion Solutions, Inc., the global leader in Business Performance Management software and a company named in 2004 as a Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For and listed on the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies. Rodek served as Chairman and CEO of Hyperion from October 1999 to July 2004. Under his leadership, the company experienced a tremendous turnaround. The final three years were especially noteworthy as a result of the consistent quarterly improvement in numerous measures, including margin and earnings per share. Over the course of his tenure, Hyperion increased customer count by fifty percent. Rodek is a recognized expert and speaker on business performance and related topics, including corporate governance and leadership. Prior to Hyperion, Rodek served as President and COO of Ingram Micro, the world’s largest wholesale provider of technology solutions, products and services. Before that, Rodek spent 16 years at FedEx, beginning in Operations Research and rising to the position of Senior Vice President, Americas. Rodek serves on the Board of Directors of Accelrys, Inc., a San Diego based public software company that develops and commercializes scientific business intelligence software and Axiant, LLC. He previously was a board member of Hyperion Solutions, Corporate Software, EXE Technology, and Accretive Commerce in addition to multiple Not-for-Profit organizations. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys golf and spending time with his family. Jeff graduated from The Ohio State University where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering (1975) and an MBA in Finance (1976)
